Tom Keifer rockin’ it hard on Solid Ground!
Genesee Theatre, Waukegan, IL, USA, January 27, 2018
Review by Anita Maree
Has it really been thirty years since Tom Keifer launched his first band Cinderella? Time flies, band mates change, but as they say rock-n-roll never dies. Keifer and his band rocked it hard as they performed his classic world-wide hits and dived into new songs off his solo album “The Way Life Goes.” Keifer’s songwriting abilities are so powerful that he is one of the best in the business. His mixture of hard rock with drops of blues makes for a perfect blend. Then take his soulful and raspy voice and there you have it – the one-of-a kind Keifer rock show!
The crowd sang along with his newer songs performing “Solid Ground”, “The Way Life Goes”, and “It’s Not Enough” and erupted with his classic hits including “Somebody Save Me”, “Shake Me”, “Night Songs”, “Nobody’s Fool”, “Coming Home” and “Shelter Me”. His wife and musician Savannah did a sit down duet with Tom at the piano performing “Don’t Know What You’ve Got (Till It’s Gone)”. The encore showcased two cover songs, The Rolling Stones “Tumbling Dice” and The Beatles “With a Little Help From My Friends”. The band closed it out with “Gypsy Road”.
Credit has to be given to this stellar band:
Tony Higbee: Guitar/Vocals
Billy Mercer: Bass/Vocals
Jarred Pope: Drums
Kory Myers: Keyboards/Vocals
Savannah Keifer: Vocals/Percussion/Piano
Kendra Chantelle: Vocals/Percussion
Sometimes you need a shot of gasoline to get you going – and sometimes you just need the Keifer Band for that extra shot!
