Yes I heard that Sammy Hagar and the Circle were coming to Lake Tahoe. I had to jump to make sure I was there. I have always enjoyed Sammy’s rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” since I heard him at FarmAid with Eddie.
The multi-platinum member of the Rock and Roll Hall, is an outgoing, bombastic frontman of hard rock champions Van Halen. Who first burst onto the scene from San Francisco as the lead vocalist of Montrose, whose “Rock Candy” has gone on to become a certified rock classic.
After being a part of Van Halen, he has formed a so-called supergroup that features Michael Anthony (the former bassist of Van Halen), Vic Johnson (the guitarist of the Waboritas), Jason Bonham (the son of Led Zepplin’s drummer John Bonham) and Sammy (who was the former vocalist of Van Halen).
The show took place at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harvey’s, which is a large outdoor venue that can accommodate 9,300 people. And the show was sold out.
The show will feature songs from the new album, as well as classic hits from Sammy Hagar’s solo career, Van Halen, Montrose, Chickenfoot, and Led Zeppelin.
Sammy Hagar has a strong connection to Lake Tahoe, as he owns a nightclub and restaurant called Cabo Wabo Cantina at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Casino and Resort. He also performs there regularly, often with his band The Circle, which features former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham, and guitarist Vic Johnson.
According to his official website, Sammy Hagar and The Circle will be performing at Cabo Wabo Cantina on October 7, 8, and 9, 2023, as part of their “Space Between” tour. Tickets are now on sale and are expected to sell out soon. Hagar and his band will perform hits from his solo career and his days with Van Halen. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance to guarantee entry. The tickets are sold out, but there may be some available on secondary markets.
