Kicking off the night with a burst of soulful indie pop was Beach Weather, the American band that effortlessly set an electrifying tone. Despite a few technical hiccups from the guitarist, Beach Weather’s performance was nothing short of captivating. Their latest album, “Pineapple Sunrise,” provided the soundtrack to the evening, featuring crowd-pleasers like ‘Swoon and Sex, Drugs, Etc.’ A standout moment occurred when their sound engineer stood up at his spot at the back of the venue for an unexpected saxophone solo, adding a jazzy twist to their indie-pop vibe.
Next, The Beaches took the stage by storm, captivating the crowd during theirT Blame My Extour. The combination of dazzling lights and vibrant colors, paired with their infectious pop-rock anthems, curated an exceptional atmosphere within the walls of Midway Music Hall. The crowd was enraptured as The Beaches belted out chart-toppers like ‘What Doesn’t Kill You Makes YouParanoid,’ ‘T-Shirt,’ and ‘Me & Me,’ prompting an enthusiastic sing-along from the captivated audience.
In a surprising twist, during the performance of ‘Your Lips,’ The Beaches welcomed Nick Santino and Reeve Powers, lead vocals and bassist for Beach Weather, to join them on stage. This collaboration added an extra layer of excitement and musical skill to an already unforgettable night. The encore arrived in the form of their biggest single, ‘Blame Brett,’ culminating the evening with an explosive crescendo that left the crowd yearning for more. The Beachesundeniably delivered a concert experience that transcended expectations and etched itself into the memories of all fortunate enough to be in attendance
