Concert Street Photography
Champions Park, Louisville KY, USA: September 30th & October 1st
By Dan Locke
When most people think of street photography, they think of the hustle-bustle of the city. People coming and going. And all the things you see in the city. Cities like New York or Chicago. People walking, skateboarding, biking and whatever they do in their short lives. But by definition, street photography, also sometimes called candid photography, is photography conducted for art or inquiry that features unmediated chance encounters and random incidents within public places. Although there is a difference between street and candid photography it is usually subtle with most street photography being candid in nature but not all candid photography being classifiable as street photography. Street photography does not necessitate the presence of a street or even the urban environment.
And that is one of the things I did at Louder Than Life in Louisville Kentucky. For the two day I was there, I did shoot the music, but I also took photos of the people there. Showing a moment in time. And that is the reason why I am calling it Concert Street Photography. Enjoy and if you like it, please like this article on our facebook page.
