Dan Locke: How old were you when you discovered you had the talent of making music?
Lexi Layne: I started musical theatre at the very young age of 5, ever since then, I’ve always had the biggest love for music.
What bands, did you listen to while growing up?
I was definitely into the hardcore/emo/scene bands at the time like My Chemical Romance, The Used, Korn, Marilyn Manson, FlyLeaf, Evanescence, etc.
Before you were making music, you were a model. What types of modeling jobs have you done?
Music was always first, even before I started tattoo modeling. I took a break from music for a bit because I couldn’t find my core people to really develop my sound, in that time I was working with independent magazines, Inked Magazine, doing music videos, etc.
What is Acting Techniques: Improvisation?
Being a theatre geek for years we were taught amazing techniques to help advance our performances on stage. Improv is one, mouth exercises, how to be quick in a skit situation as well.
Have you done any voice overs for cartoons?
No, I haven’t, but I would love to get into that in the future!
You went to high school in Parkland FL. What is your feeling about gun control?
Yes, I went to Stoman Douglas where one of the worst shootings did happen, I feel we need to be more strict with security on school premises, we also need to pay attention to red flags with these students attending. I really hope we get a hold of it so this violence can stop.
I came across a list of entertains who went to your school. Did you know any of them while you were in high school? And if you did can you tell us something about them.
Cassandra Lynn Scerbo- Slumber Party Girls (all-girl pop band)
Cassie Scerbo is a friend of mine, we used to hang out a little bit when I was younger living in FL. She is actually the one who introduced me to my old producers/vocal coaches. Very sweet girl and talented.
Tell me about The Damn Devillez?
The Damn Devillez an underground, horror, burlesque troupe I am in. I’ve been with them for almost a year now and love performing in it.
Is “Victoria Secret” a good clothing line to wear during your performances?
I wear a lot of lingerie when I perform in my burlesque troupe, some are from VS but not all of it. A lot of our costumes are custom made as well.
How would you describe your style of music? I saw some of your videos I like them.
Thank you so much! I like to describe my music as raw, in your face and blunt!
Tell me what someone would see if they came to one of your gigs.
Tons Of energy, a good crowd, and some kickass music!
So, on your current project you are working with Clint Fowler. How did you meet him? Is Clint related to Kim Fowler (The Runaways/Joan Jett)?
Clint and I met bartending a gig about a year ago. We started talking about music and we vibed really well, the rest is history. Clint is also not related to Kim Fowler, it would be cool if he was though lol.
What are the “CSI AllStars”?
“CSI ALLSTARS” was a selective singing group I was in when I was in theatre. We would tour around south FL singing. It was a really great experience!
I went to IMDB and saw your name under the movie JAWZ: Was a movie or just a video?
JAWZ was a music video I did when I first moved to LA.
Is your music selling better, on Amazon or Apple Music?
They are both doing really great!
Do you have a deal with the WWE?
No, I do not. I did apply awhile back and made it through the final round for the show but it seemed the show crashed.
How did you get so much coverage in 504 Dymes?
Back in my modeling days, I built a really great relationship with the owner, we worked very well together.
Do you have many fans in Russia (music.yandex.ru)?
I’m not sure to be honest, I hope so!
If you could tour with any band and being the support group for the headliner, which band would it be?
That is such a hard question, Opening up for the band “Pvris” would be an honor.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Anything in closing you would like to said?
I’m hoping I’m on tour, making more music for fans all around the world!
