“Eyes on the Prize….  This is What it Takes…”

Touring is a part of a band’s success especially in this cutthroat industry. With most millennials having the attitude of #NetflixandChill, true fans support the bands they love.   Coming from the crazy city of Las Vegas, Adelitas Way has a solid legion of supporters who come out to each show to see Rick and the guys’ captive the audience.  I was honored to be able to see this phenomenal band twice within days of each other. First, one show was on May 4th at the massive The Forge in Joliet, Illinois, and May 7th at the wonderful Rochaus in West Dundee, Illinois.

The “What It Takes” tour for Adelitas Way was marking a new beginning for the band.  Rick DeJesus (lead singer) is all about changing up the song list, bringing a powerful performance with his mesmerizing vocals and stage presence.  Plus, the entire band is evoking on recording a new album soon to give their fans what they always enjoy from Adelitas Way:  Great lyrics which hits on many levels and brings on all the feels.

The band is powerful every time I see them live.  Rick is about 6’4 in height and he is astounding to watch while on stage.  His vocals are a blessing to hear during some of the slower songs like “Alive” and “Last Stand.”  Yet, Rick is a beast when it comes to belting out “What It Takes, “Criticize,” “Notorious,” and “Sick.”  His schoolboy charm along with a great sense of humor makes Rick very relatable to both men and women.  At both shows I was at, men wanted to be him and all women just adored Rick.  While watching Rick perform, he is smooth.  He glides across all stages with such ease and almost dances with grace.

Lead Guitarist Tre (Art of Dying) is a wonderful addition to Adelitas Way.  With his long, blonde locks and powerful riffs, he brings just enough rock to an already established band. Bass players always grab my attention and Josh does just that.  He is incredibly humble yet thrills on stage.  His vocals is perfectly paired with Rick’s as Josh sings background.

Adelitas Way is the necessary force we all need in this crazy world filled with stress, anxiety and depression. Sometimes, it is just nice to be able to head out to a show and just rock the worries away with some great music.  Thank you to Adelitas Way for being that very element to me and my hectic life.  You are truly an inspiration and this why your fans love you.
