Corey Taylor brought his CMFT2 tour to Chicago’s own River Theater 08/28/2023. This show was just what we needed to kick off the much-anticipated Labor Day weekend. It was song after song of what we love to hear and sing. Starting off with The Box, Post Traumatic blues, and We are the rest, from his soon to be released CFM2 album on September 15th. I really enjoyed Post traumatic blues.
This song is a good cross of Stone Sour Meets Slipknot. The energy of the song is phenomenal but how could it not be. When you have the voice of Corey Taylor (very melodic and silky) . The crowd was more than happy to start a singing party once Corey went into Stone Sour’s Song 3 and songs like Slipknots Before I Forget and Snuff, of course Bother and Looking through the Glass had the packed crowd wanting more. It was the concert you never want to leave because all you want to do is sing. Do yourself a favor and go catch Corey Taylor in this intimate setting and get ready to sing your heart out. I know I did. Just getting a glimpse of the new songs of his 2nd solo venture is enough for this writer to go and order my copy of CMF2. CMF did not disappoint. Don’t miss him.
